New's 23

For those who didn't watch or can't get the news. Steve, Sofia and I were on the news on Sunday night. Aunt Leigh and Uncle Nick should be proud. She wore the pretty purple sweater you got her. She really looks good in that color. Of course she looks good in anything. The story was about China's new rules for adoption. They cut out alot of the interview. But Sofia is a big star. She has been in the local newspaper and now on TV. Wow just think she is only 10ms.

First Christmas

Sofia enjoyed her first Christmas. We went to church Sunday morning. Then to Steve Grandma and Grandpa's house. Then we went to Aunt Tina's and Uncle Lyle's house for dinner. After that we went to Grandma T and Grandpa T's house. We came home and went to bed. Christmas day was not so busy. We opened our gifts and then went to breakfast at Grandpa T and Grandma T's house. Came home for a rest. Went and ate at Aunt Tina's house for lunch. The rest of the day was spent at home enjoying family time. Sofia is back on her schedule. We are enjoying everyday. We are so Blessed.

Christmas Cookies

We went to Grandma's house and made Christmas cookies. Sofia got into Amnesty purse and found some gum. Don't worry we didn't let her chew any. And she didn't eat any of the cookies. We had a lot of fun.

Daddy Back to Work

Daddy went back to work on Friday. It's been different not having daddy around the house. Mommy had to learn to put Sofia in her crib at night. The crib is high so I have a hard time putting Sofia to bed without waking her up. We also were in the Rockford Register Star on Monday. In the Go section of the paper.

The Boys and Sofia

We took photo's today of the boys and Sofia. It was hard to get all of them to look at us at the same time. Sofia also found out she can feed herself. The boys think they should help her. The newspaper came and took our photo for a story on First Christmas.

Sunday afternoon

Sunday we let people start holding Sofia. Yes its been 6 weeks already. Time goes by fast. On Sunday we went to Jen and Kevin's for dinner. Katelyn was feeding Sofia on Jen's lap. Sofia really enjoyed playing with Katelyn. Thanks Dani and Vince. We are so happy to have met such wonderful people through Lifelink. The boys are loving Sofia. They sit right next to the highchair to pick up anything that drops. They help keep the floor clean.

HOME AT LAST!!!

We finally made it. The flight was long. The food on the plane was bad. The movies were good. It was cold and rainy in Chicago. There was a traffic jam. But we are home!!! Sofia is trying to get used to her new house and new family. She visited the doctor today and got three shots and her blood drawn. What a trooper! She has discovered a new toy, a jumperoo. She loves it.

Last day in Guangzhou

Well, here it is our last day in Guangzhou. Today we went to the US Consulate. We had to swear to be good mommies and daddies. There were a lot of people there! Tomorrow we go to Hong Kong by way of choo-choo train (a double decker and not the Thomas the Tank kind). The girl in the photo is Anna, she is Steve's new best friend. We bought most of the souvenirs from her store. We made some good deals and she said it was only because Steve is her new best friend. Only two more days left!!!! Be home soon. Keep the posts coming, we may get to view them there. Oh, and we have taken 650 photos so far!!!!

Busy Day

Boy, was today ever busy!!! We started out this morning a little bit earlier. Sofia woke mommy up at 5:30am. After breakfast we went to a mountain by means of a cable car. It was beautiful. After that came the botanical garden. After lunch we went to the White Swan for the famous red couch photos. That is an awesome hotel!!!!!! Next came the electronics market. They had some good deals! Not good enough for me though! Next we dropped off half of our group at a temple for sight seeing. The rest of us went to a Buddhist Temple and had the girls blessed by the monks for a happy, long life and good health. We next picked up the group and went to do more shopping. Am I ever tired of shopping. We are finally resting. Tomorrow is the US Consulate visit. The BIG DAY!!! The second biggest day of the trip (#1 is getting the most beautiful little girl in the world). We will write more later.
